beach-front-21-300x225Tangalooma Island Resort is an earthly haven located in Tangalooma, Queensland in Australia. Originally, it was a whaling station and was made into an island holiday destination because of its rare flora and fauna and its glorious views. Couples or families trying to find a super vacation destination can expect to certainly love a Tangalooma Island Resort holiday.

This haven is found on the west side of Moreton Island, right near Moreton Bay. It is famous for its majestic white beaches and having been a whale sanctuary since the year the whaling station was closed down, in 1962.

When going on a Tangalooma Island Resort getaway, you can expect to be attended to by friendly and helpful staff while at the same time being taken aback by the glorious white sand beaches. You might also take on a range of activities from wreck diving to feeding and playing with the dolphins. You can’t help but definitely enjoy every second of your break.

Tangalooma has a small population of 300, but tourism has helped this small township to thrive and keep the picturesque and spectacular glory of the island. More than 3500 holidaymakers stay at the resort weekly, and even more through peak seasons. The local government has also developed a Centre for Marine Education and Conservation, to educate and train the local population and holidaymakers of the importance of protecting the marine life in the area. The centre employs marine biologists to hold information awareness drives and programs, part of the nature tour package for travelers.

Throughout a Tangalooma Island Resort holiday, everyone is sure to enjoy their holiday with over eighty activities to pick from - but maybe the highlight of your vacation could be the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of nature. Travellers can go sight-seeing and experience the glorious sunrise and sunset on the beach, or play with the dolphins that swim around the resort.
